Frequently Asked Questions
In deregulated markets, gas can be delivered onto the utility system and to commercial customers by third party suppliers such as WoodRiver Energy through a program known as gas transportation. Deregulation and gas transportation have been around since the early 1990’s but only recently has it been viable for smaller commercial customers to participate.
Transport allows customers to choose how they purchase their natural gas. Because we work with predictable loads we can efficiently deliver natural gas which in turn allows us to offer you the best rates and services possible. Our products are designed to service specific customer needs including budget certainty or savings. Ultimately, we want to help you find the right solution that best fits your needs.
Utilities are revenue neutral meaning they cannot make any profit from the purchase and sale of natural gas on behalf of their customers as regulated by public utility commissions. Utilities that have experienced deregulation allow transport because third party suppliers do not alter their revenue stream.
WoodRiver does not replace the utility. Your local utility will still be the ones to call if you smell gas or if you suspect there is a leak.
WoodRiver Energy is passionate about our customers. We strive to provide all customers with the best service possible. As a small business ourselves we know what community means and we know how far a personal touch and proactive care goes towards maintaining long standing relationships.
