Wednesday, August 31, 2022 – Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Restaurant Association has opened nominations for their first-ever Sustainability & Innovation Award (Presented by WoodRiver Energy). This award recognizes Iowa restaurants that are committed to excellence and leadership in the protection of the environment and the implementation of sustainable practices. The nominated restaurant must be able to provide examples of how they’re reducing, reusing, and recycling for long-term sustainability and the environment.
The winner of this award will be chosen based on the impact of their sustainable practices, creativity, and innovation in providing a solution and the level of difficulty required to implement and maintain these solutions.
“With five to seven times more energy usage per square foot than other commercial buildings, restaurants have a tremendous opportunity to implement solutions that help save energy and protect the environment,” says Don Krattenmaker, COO, WoodRiver Energy. “We are honored to sponsor this award supporting innovation and sustainability within the Iowa restaurant industry.”
Nominations can be made online at restaurantiowa.com.
